About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the store manager to learn the operations of a retail business. The goal is to provide a positive shopping experience for guests while developing your own leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Develop a deep understanding of Buckle products, sales presentations, and the merchandising process.
- Build guest relationships to help grow a client-based business.
- Assist with daily operations including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior retail experience or training is necessary.
- You must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
