About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports the store team by focusing on customer service, merchandising, and daily operations. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the retail business and develop leadership skills. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Pittsburg, Kansas.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility cleaning.
- Complete modules from the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker tool.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Greet guests and help them find merchandise to create a positive shopping experience.
- Handle freight, process markdowns, and maintain a clean, organized store.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays.
