About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills within a retail environment. You will work closely with the store manager to understand how the business operates and what is required to excel in management. This role involves balancing daily store operations with specific internship projects designed to build your professional skillset.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls.
- Assist with store operations including guest service, cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Buckle's customer service expectations and sales presentation strategies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field, such as Business Administration or Marketing.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
