About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how Buckle operates while gaining hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and sales. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship located in Paducah, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using Performance Tracker to monitor department tools.
- Provide weekly progress updates and reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Perform daily retail tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, and general store operations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a field like Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- You are physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior retail experience or training is required for this role.
