About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand daily operations, sales strategies, and management responsibilities. This is a hands-on role designed to build your skills in leadership, recruiting, and merchandising while contributing to the store's overall success.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide helpful service to create an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, stocking, and maintaining store displays.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your progress.
- Complete required sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, and interviewing.
- Open and close cash registers, handle money, and balance cash drawers.
- Provide weekly progress updates to management and participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
