    About the role#

    This co-op position offers the chance to work within the Controls Engineering department at our Hershey, Pennsylvania facility. You will work under the guidance of a controls engineer on various projects, including electrical design, equipment installation, and system troubleshooting. This role is a full-time, paid opportunity for the Fall 2026 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop electrical elementary drawings and write PLC programs.
    • Assist with HMI screen development.
    • Observe plant processes to make recommendations and troubleshoot existing systems.
    • Research new technologies for use in production environments.
    • Collaborate with process, packaging, and quality engineering teams.
    • Coordinate with vendors regarding equipment selection and setup.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
    • Completed coursework in electrical theory, electronics, and electrical design.
    • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience and the ability to use instruments like digital multimeters.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to work well with others and take initiative on assigned projects.
