About the role#
The IDEAS Fellow supports Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Strategies at The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts. This role works within the People and Culture department to help integrate these strategies into the organization. You will gain experience in nonprofit leadership, arts administration, and organizational culture while working with staff, musicians, and community partners.
What you'll do#
- Support IDEAS projects and activities across the organization.
- Coordinate and staff IDEAS-related meetings, committees, and programs.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings and organizing materials.
- Assist with basic tracking of budgets, expenses, and invoices.
- Perform research, benchmarking, and basic data analysis to support decision-making.
- Help draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.
- A willingness to learn and take initiative.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- This is an unpaid, on-site fellowship.
- The schedule is rolling and requires approximately 20 to 25 hours per week.
- You may need a flexible schedule to support meetings and events, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, and Political Science.
