About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the McFarlin Library. You will work with library staff to maintain collections and assist visitors. This role is open to students majoring in Logistics, Communications, or Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to library visitors in person, online, and over the phone.
- Complete routine library tasks including shelving books and checking items in and out.
- Assist staff with projects such as inventory and shifting materials.
- Follow the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.
- Adhere to a pre-agreed schedule established at the start of each semester.
What you'll need#
- Effective communication skills for interacting with staff and patrons.
- Basic computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft 360 and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks.
- Morning or afternoon availability.
