About the role#
This internship provides on-the-job training for students interested in a career in Human Resources or Business Administration. You will gain professional experience by supporting our team with daily administrative tasks and project work. This role is based in Southfield, Michigan, and is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Learn our internal organizational processes and procedures.
- Review and process court orders that require changes to benefit coverage.
- Use the Benefits Administrative system to manage qualifying life events and coverage changes.
- Reconcile monthly invoices from vendors and facilitate approvals for payment.
- Contribute to special projects and assist with maintaining documentation or records.
- Respond to incoming telephone calls and emails.
- Collaborate with staff across departments in a team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation (within one year) from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
