About the role#
TotalBond Veterinary Hospital offers a hands-on externship and preceptorship program for students currently enrolled in an accredited Veterinary Technician program. This role provides practical experience in a clinical setting to help you prepare for your career after graduation. You will work directly with our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to gain exposure to routine and emergency veterinary care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Administer vaccinations and medications.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests including bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Take radiographs.
- Provide care for hospitalized animals.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Veterinary Technician program.
- Interest in animal care and a desire to learn.
- Communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of animal handling.
