About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring Fitness Instructors to lead group exercise classes at The WELL. This is a part-time, temporary position. You will work in a facility that includes fitness studios, a cardio center, and weight lifting areas. Shifts are available Monday through Saturday.
What you'll do#
- Lead group exercise, dance, or martial arts classes using sound exercise principles.
- Monitor all activities to ensure participant safety.
- Respond to injuries or emergencies and activate the emergency action plan when needed.
- Attend pre-semester training sessions and all-staff meetings.
- Help promote events held at The WELL.
- Communicate with staff and participants while enforcing facility policies.
What you'll need#
- Ability to develop and lead group exercise classes.
- A primary fitness certification (such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NASM) or formal training in cycling, dance, or martial arts.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a firm grasp of exercise science.
- Preference is given to students or graduates in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related fields.

- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
- Schedule: Casual employees are limited to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
