About the role#
The Hoxworth Transplantation Immunology Laboratory is looking for a Student Associate to join their team. This role is based in a histocompatibility and immunogenetics testing laboratory where you will work with blood products. You will support laboratory operations through a mix of administrative tasks and technical assistance.
What you'll do#
- Manage laboratory supplies, including ordering and stocking items.
- Unpack and organize incoming sample tests.
- Perform sample aliquoting.
- File requisitions and handle phone inquiries.
- Complete mandatory training, such as HIPAA, IT security, safety, and GMP protocols.
- Follow all laboratory policies and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment at a secondary or post-secondary institution.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completed coursework in a biology or chemistry lab.
- Experience with pipetting.
- Knowledge of biohazards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work while standing for extended periods.
Location & details#
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, typically between Monday and Friday, 7am to 6pm. Flexibility is available to accommodate your class schedule.
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
