About the role#
The Office of Career Services Technology Team at the University of Maryland is hiring an intern to support data processing and reporting. You will work directly with the Technology Manager to maintain systems and manage data integrity. This is a paid, part-time position for graduate students.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain system interface scripts using Python and REST API for platforms like 12Twenty and Salesforce.
- Design and maintain a Business Intelligence system using Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and Google Sheets.
- Manage data integrity through regular de-duplication and quality control reviews.
- Create and provide standard reports on recruiting volume, student engagement, and employer history using data from HireSmith.
- Design and maintain tables, views, and queries in a SQL database.
- Support the team by managing projects involving undergraduate students.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University of Maryland graduate program.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong skills in Excel, ETL processes, and Business Intelligence tools.
- Experience with database management, particularly SQL.
- Ability to handle sensitive student data with confidentiality.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- The role is based on-site at Van Munching Hall in College Park, Maryland.
- The internship runs from August 31, 2026, through December 22, 2027.
- You will work 20 hours per week during the semester and 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Compensation is $15 per hour.
