About the role#
The Sustaining Engineering team is looking for a Summer 2027 intern to assist with component analysis, product support, and engineering change management. You will work on real-world projects involving legacy systems, retrofit initiatives, and obsolescence management. This role offers exposure to the product lifecycle and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Identify and evaluate alternative components for legacy systems.
- Document findings for the parts harvesting and recertification program.
- Organize inventory data for obsolete and replacement parts.
- Initiate Change Orders and create Bills of Materials.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation under senior guidance.
- Assist with kit design, drawing preparation, and testing tasks.
- Maintain engineering databases and collaborate with supply chain and quality teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor program for Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- An interest in power systems, electronics, or mechanical component design.
- A basic understanding of engineering drawings, mechanical parts, and PCBA components.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
