About the role#
As an Optical & Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work on the design, development, and testing of hardware for network test and measurement solutions. This position provides hands-on experience in a laboratory environment where you will support senior engineering staff with technical projects and system evaluations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, simulation, and prototyping of electrical circuits and optical modules.
- Conduct laboratory testing and characterization of hardware components and systems.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyze data, and document your findings.
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and debugging hardware issues.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
- Research new technologies, components, and methodologies.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, designs, and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of circuit design principles, analog, and digital electronics.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools including MATLAB, Python, or Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with optical components, fiber optics, or optical communication systems is a plus.
