About the role#
This is a one-year fellowship where you will work alongside internal data science teams and a Vizient executive mentor. You will contribute to projects across clinical operations, pharmacy, supply chain, and healthcare strategy. The program aims to help you improve operations and generate new insights while developing your skills. You will present a capstone project at the end of your term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with internal staff, company leaders, and external stakeholders.
- Develop data science approaches and machine learning models to predict healthcare outcomes.
- Conduct self-directed research into healthcare data topics.
- Participate in client-facing meetings to understand business needs.
- Manage data and complete assigned tasks alongside experienced data scientists.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree in data science, statistics, medical or health informatics, or a related field is desired.
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or SAS.
- Strong proficiency in database design using SQL.
- Quantitative skills for data analysis and machine learning model development.
- Experience working with healthcare data such as EHR or EMR systems and medical terminologies is strongly preferred.
- Candidates must submit a one-page personal statement explaining their interest in this fellowship.
