About the role#
This internship provides exposure to the supply chain operations at Electric Machinery, a division of WEG. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain insight into procurement, logistics, and inventory management. You will collaborate across departments to support sourcing and inventory control while managing project schedules to meet specific deadlines. At the end of the term, you will present a final project demonstrating the value you contributed to the company.
What you'll do#
- Support functional areas including sourcing, procurement, and inventory control.
- Contribute to ongoing projects such as optimizing inventory turnover or analyzing slow-moving stock.
- Audit and redefine safety stock levels and reorder points within the ERP system.
- Calculate the carrying cost of inventory and identify potential savings.
- Manage multiple tasks and project schedules to ensure timely completion.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time student with junior status or higher.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP, LEAN, or continuous improvement practices.
- Leadership experience through student groups, volunteer work, or other extracurriculars.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
