About the role#
Westbrook Health Services offers clinical practicum and internship placements for graduate students. You will work alongside our staff to gain hands-on experience in a community mental health center. This role is designed to help you meet school credit requirements while providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
What you'll do#
- Participate in individual, group, and family therapy sessions for a variety of needs and diagnoses.
- Manage a small outpatient therapy caseload with families, groups, and individuals.
- Deliver services for children aged 3 through adulthood.
- Shadow and learn about evidence-based practices like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT.
- Participate in the full array of services provided at our community mental health center.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a master's program for Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work.
- You must be using this experience to fulfill school credit requirements.
- Availability between 8 am and 6 pm.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week.
