About the role#
WFYI is looking for a Marketing & Events Intern to support our outreach and event strategy. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the planning and execution of WFYI Live events and the Economic Club of Indiana Speaker Series. This role involves working directly with the marketing team on logistics, digital content, and on-site coordination.
What you'll do#
- Support the event team with logistics, attendee communication, and on-site preparation for WFYI Live and the Economic Club of Indiana.
- Help coordinate day-of activities during events.
- Communicate with vendors, partners, and attendees regarding event details.
- Write platform-specific copy for social media to promote local and national programming.
- Create visual assets using Canva templates while following brand standards.
- Assist with email marketing, including copy writing, content curation, and template population.
- Research and write speaker bios for the Economic Club of Indiana.
- Organize our graphic management system and attend marketing team meetings.
- Participate in all internship program activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with a focus on Marketing or Communications.
- Coursework or training in social media marketing, content management systems, or email tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with design software like Canva or Adobe.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to attend Economic Club luncheons and WFYI Live events.
