About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship for students pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related fields. You will support community outreach and public relations programs designed to engage and retain members. The role provides exposure to the organization through a professional cohort, mentorship, and hands-on projects.
What you'll do#
- Gain broad exposure to the organization through cohort activities and professional development.
- Assist with event registration and setup for Family and Senior events, and document attendee experiences.
- Conduct audits of common bond submissions and chapter social media pages.
- Research financial wellness trends and competitive offerings from other member-based organizations.
- Review marketing materials and provide recommendations for engaging scholarship recipients.
- Collaborate on vendor calls for the LifesPerks program and assist with project kits for Giving Together.
- Process daily member transfers, EApp transfers, and chapter supply orders.
- Scan and file documents for chapters and jurisdictions.
- Summarize your accomplishments and key learnings in a capstone presentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to philanthropy and community involvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and generative AI tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Experience with cloud-based workflow management and social media is preferred.
