About the role#
As a Truck Driver Student at XPO, you will participate in a training program to earn your CDL-A. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. You will gain hands-on experience as an LTL driver while working under supervision to learn the requirements of the role.
What you'll do#
- Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A license.
- Perform vehicle inspections as required by federal regulations.
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination under supervision for up to 11 consecutive hours.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift when necessary.
- Verify and complete all required documentation and reports.
- Maintain communication with service center personnel.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 21 years of age.
- You have 1 year of related experience.
- You hold a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 12 months.
- You can attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
- You must pass a DOT drug test and have no prior positive tests or refusals in the last 3 years.
- You are comfortable lifting objects up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally more than 75 lbs.
- You can operate heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
