About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a military installation. This role focuses on building relationships with teens, modeling your faith, and creating a community where they can find hope and connection. You will lead and oversee Club Beyond, an outreach-oriented program for military youth.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervisor to review ministry goals and team tools.
- Lead and participate in Club Beyond clubs and small group sessions.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan for your spiritual development.
- Attend Chapel on installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement in the ministry.
- Recruit and train new leaders while building a diverse leadership team.
- Assist with outreach efforts to reach unchurched teens.
- Communicate monthly updates to your personal donor partners.
- Discuss financial support goals with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma earned at least two years ago.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and an energetic approach to ministry.
- A teachable heart and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Experience or skills in small event planning.
- A commitment to a relational ministry style.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Academic background in Sociology, Psychology, or Philosophy is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, paid internship located in the District of Columbia.
- The position operates on a rolling basis and is full-time.
- You must live near the community where you serve.
- Sponsorship is not provided for this role.
