About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those wanting to serve and grow in their walk with Christ. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a military installation to provide ministry to teens. This role is focused on building relationships, creating community, and modeling a personal example of Jesus Christ. You will help oversee the Club Beyond program, which is outreach-oriented and ecumenical.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with supervising staff using team agenda tools.
- Participate in leadership to conduct Club Beyond club and small group ministry.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan.
- Attend Chapel on the installation.
- Attend volunteer leader meetings and meet weekly with one volunteer.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders while building a leadership team.
- Discuss raising financial support with your supervisor and communicate monthly updates to your donor partners.
- Assist with community outreach to unchurched teens and provide discipleship to believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for youth ministry.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and for lost teens.
- A teachable heart and strong initiative.
- Competent communication skills.
- Willingness to raise part of the budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Energy and small event planning skills.
- Preference for candidates with a background in Psychology.
