About the role#
Young Life Military offers an internship for individuals interested in youth ministry leadership. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a military installation to support Club Beyond. This role focuses on relational ministry and requires a commitment to serving teens within a military community. Interns are expected to live near the community where they serve.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with supervising staff to review ministry goals.
- Participate in leadership with a team to conduct club and small group ministry.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on the installation.
- Attend volunteer leader meetings and meet weekly with one volunteer.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders while building a leadership team.
- Discuss raising financial support with your supervisor and send monthly updates to donor partners.
- Assist with community outreach to unchurched teens and provide discipleship to believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school youth ministry.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- A teachable heart and strong initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to raise part of the budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Energy and skills in small event planning.
- Academic background in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, History, or Philosophy is helpful.
