About the role#
The Federal Work Study Esports Graphic Design position maintains the visual identity of the ArtU Esports program. You will work on-site to translate match milestones, team brand guidelines, and program announcements into digital and print assets. This role involves working with the Esports Manager and coordinators to deliver cohesive visual packages, from social media templates to custom broadcast layouts.
What you'll do#
- Design comprehensive stream overlay packages, including scene transitions, starting soon screens, commercial placeholders, and alert graphics.
- Create social media assets, match-day templates, tournament brackets, and player spotlight graphics.
- Review designed materials with the Esports Manager to ensure they follow university and program brand guidelines.
- Organize project files, vector assets, and asset libraries.
- Collaborate with the video production team to provide vector assets, typography layouts, and lower-thirds for promotional video packages.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent vector and raster software.
- Understanding of core design principles like typography, composition, color theory, layout hierarchy, and branding continuity.
- Experience creating functional stream assets or digital layouts for platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
- Ability to meet timelines with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivation and strong time management skills.
- An interest in games and esports.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay Rate: $19.61 per hour.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week (must not conflict with class schedule).
- Employment Term: Rolling, from the start of your term through graduation.
- Majors: Graphic Design, Art, or Media Studies.
