    About the role#

    As a visual effects intern at Beenox, you will create and adapt effects to support gameplay, cinematics, and the atmosphere of our game levels. You will work within our studio to help build memorable experiences for players.

    What you'll do#

    • Create real-time VFX elements using particles, models, textures, animations, and lighting.
    • Build realistic effects like fire, explosions, and weather while following the project's art direction.
    • Optimize your work to fit the technical constraints of different development platforms.
    • Coordinate with the design, audio, and art teams to identify project requirements.
    • Integrate VFX features into the game engine through collaboration with various departments.

    What you'll need#

    • A strong portfolio showcasing your visual effects work.
    • Proficiency in French.
    • Experience with a game engine VFX system such as Unreal, Crytek, or Unity.
    • Working knowledge of Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, or Maya.
    • An interest in learning internal tools and adapting to a changing environment.
    • Pursuing studies in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Media Studies, or Art.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time internship based in Quebec, Canada.
    • The term for this position is Winter 2027.
    • This role requires you to work on-site five days a week.
