About the role#
Albacore Inc. is hiring Mechanical Engineering interns for the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site in Philadelphia to support the production and development of drone submarines. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to mechanical design, integration, and validation efforts.
- Support structural layouts, packaging, sealing strategies, and subsystem integration for propulsion and sensing.
- Design and fabricate custom hardware for component verification and performance evaluation.
- Execute technical investigations to assess new concepts, mechanisms, and materials that improve reliability and durability.
What you'll need#
- Experience designing and building mechanical or electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Skills in structural analysis and material selection.
- Comfort with hands-on prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- U.S. work authorization and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
