About the role#
Albacore Inc. builds drone submarines for the defense of sovereign waters. As a software engineering intern, you will work alongside our full-time engineers on projects that directly impact our production goals. You will contribute to the team from your first day and gain experience working with physical hardware.
What you'll do#
- Scale vehicle production to double-digits.
- Conduct international demonstrations for NATO.
- Work with real hardware to see your code move physical systems.
- Participate in the legal testing of our vehicles, including blowing up a ship.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Linux and the command line.
- Experience using and writing software for ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Hands-on experience building perception, planning, or control systems for autonomous robots.
- Experience writing systems software in low-level languages like C, C++, Rust, or Zig.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and Rust.
- U.S. work authorization and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
