About the role#
L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Software Engineering Intern to work on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work a 9/80 schedule, which means you work 80 hours over nine days and have every other Friday off.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to software development.
- Design and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software.
- Define operational performance requirements and overall system design.
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing of embedded software for tactical radio equipment.
- Create software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data, run experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair defects.
- Work with various languages and platforms, including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, and Qt on Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.
