About the role#
Allegion is looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join our team in Indianapolis for the summer of 2027. You will work within a small, engaged team focused on safety, security, and access management solutions. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site work. Please note that we do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Define mechanical requirements and specifications to meet customer needs.
- Develop mechanical designs and create support documentation.
- Prototype, test, and validate new mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
- Use engineering tools to evaluate and mitigate risks early in the process.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project leads.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effective time management and active listening skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- A resilient mindset with the ability to adapt quickly.
