    About the role#

    This position supports the GOVT 105 course, Individual Freedom v. Authority, during the Fall 2026 semester. You will work 3 hours per week to assist with course instruction and student engagement.

    What you'll do#

    • Run a weekly one-hour discussion section.
    • Be available to talk to students enrolled in the course.
    • Meet regularly with the professor to discuss class progress.
    • Coordinate section topics throughout the term.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a student at American University.
    • Previous completion of the Individual Freedom v. Authority (GOVT 105) course.
    • A solid understanding of the core issues in political philosophy.
