About the role#
This internship places you within the Security Operations Center (SOC) team. You will work with a global group to assess risks and threats while supporting secure business solutions. This is a hands-on position that blends core security operations with problem-solving and light coding to address real-world challenges.
What you'll do#
- Triage and investigate real security alerts.
- Identify repetitive tasks and design automation to improve team efficiency.
- Secure endpoints, including workstations and servers, from malware.
- Support web application and API threat detection and protection.
- Plan, coordinate, configure, and document applications for use with Single Sign On (SSO).
- Identify and document opportunities for automation playbooks within the SOC platform.
What you'll need#
- Completion of sophomore or junior year by the start of the internship.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Exposure to Windows or Linux server-based operating systems.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with web development or scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- A basic understanding of HTTP and HTTPS request and response flows.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office productivity tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, along with a desire to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Ada, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time. This role is on-site Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
