About the role#
The Anthropic Fellows Program is designed to foster talent in AI research and engineering. This program provides funding and mentorship to technical individuals looking to transition into empirical AI research. Fellows spend 4 months working on projects that align with our research priorities, with the goal of producing a public output such as a paper submission.
What you'll do#
- Conduct 4 months of full-time research.
- Participate in a project selection and mentor matching process.
- Work on an empirical project aligned with research priorities.
- Produce a public output, such as a paper submission.
- Contribute to collaborative environments.
What you'll need#
- A strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or cybersecurity.
- Fluency in Python programming.
- Motivation to ensure AI is safe and beneficial for society.
- The ability to implement ideas quickly and communicate clearly.
- Excitement about transitioning into empirical AI research.
Location & details#
- This program is full-time for a 4-month term starting in Fall 2026.
- The role is on-site at our shared workspaces in California or Ontario.
- This position is paid.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this program. You must have independent work authorization in the United States or Canada.
