About the role#
The Anthropic Fellows Program in ML Systems & Performance is a 4-month, full-time research opportunity. Fellows work on empirical projects aligned with our research priorities, using external infrastructure like open-source models and public APIs. The program focuses on fostering technical talent and includes direct mentorship from our researchers. Participants engage in a project selection and mentor matching process to ensure alignment with their expertise.
What you'll do#
- Conduct full-time research for a 4-month term.
- Collaborate across research and engineering disciplines.
- Work on empirical projects such as building CPU simulators, developing accelerator backends, or creating synthetic data pipelines.
- Communicate project progress clearly and effectively with team members.
What you'll need#
- A strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, physics, data science, cybersecurity, or engineering.
- Fluency in Python programming.
- Strong software engineering skills, specifically with experience building complex ML systems.
- Proven experience in research or engineering areas related to ML systems and performance.
- Ability to commit to full-time work for the duration of the 4-month program.
Location & details#
- This role is remote-friendly, with designated shared workspaces available in San Francisco and other locations.
- Candidates must have independent work authorization for the United States or Canada. We do not provide visa sponsorship for this program.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
