About the role#
The Catering Services Student Worker supports the event operations team at Mississippi State University. You help run catering orders and events by handling setup, service, and cleanup. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Set up catering and event services based on client requests.
- Transport food, beverages, and equipment to event locations.
- Arrange tables, chairs, and buffet lines.
- Replenish food and drink items during events.
- Maintain the cleanliness of service areas.
- Provide customer service to all guests.
- Break down equipment and clean the area after events conclude.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Willingness to follow the assigned dress code.
- Ability to complete required Food Handling and Alcohol Service training.
- Previous experience in customer service or catering is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Availability to work event-based hours.
