About the role#
As a Student Food Services or Catering Worker, you will assist with daily food preparation and service operations on campus. This role focuses on building professional skills in a food service environment while maintaining high standards for safety and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food items following standardized recipes and specific directions.
- Store food products properly to meet safety standards.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve food to customers and anticipate their needs to ensure satisfaction.
- Keep food stations stocked and replenish items as needed.
- Maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with guests, clients, and co-workers.
- Follow all company safety policies, including food sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Willingness to obtain a food safety certification if you do not already have one.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle physical requirements such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment as required.
