About the role#
The Culinary Intern provides technical and administrative support to the restaurant chef, sous chef, and supervisors. This role focuses on the effective operation of kitchen facilities and food production outlets at the resort.
What you'll do#
- Support the kitchen leadership team and help train staff.
- Maintain food quality and consistency across all served items.
- Prepare stations 15 minutes before service begins.
- Manage food supplies and inventory to ensure availability for all outlets.
- Assist with controlling food costs and prep lists.
- Produce orders and handle refrigeration and service of cold food.
- Learn all menu items produced by your assigned station.
- Oversee daily kitchen sanitation and ensure staff follows Ecosure procedures.
- Monitor kitchen safety and ensure equipment remains in good working order.
- Report maintenance needs for walk-in coolers and kitchen facilities.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized on a daily basis.
What you'll need#
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
