About the role#
The Strategic Modeling Team at the Boston Research Center develops simulators to help the Upstream Division improve hydrocarbon recovery and discovery. This internship focuses on numerical methods, software development, and high-performance computing.
What you'll do#
- Implement new physical models into the massively parallel reservoir simulator.
- Profile simulation code to find performance bottlenecks and work with researchers to improve the results.
- Build and test front-end GUI elements for simulator input creation.
- Validate simulator output by comparing it against industry standards.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The program runs during the Summer of 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- The role is eligible for internship course credit.
