About the role#
This internship focuses on the procurement of goods and services for the scientists, engineers, and organizations at Argonne National Laboratory. You will work within a team to manage the acquisition of products and services required for laboratory operations.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage purchase orders using proprietary contract administration software.
- Contact suppliers to confirm pricing, follow up on past due orders, and close out contracts.
- Assist procurement staff in resolving vendor transaction exceptions in Workday.
- Communicate with laboratory staff and suppliers to support procurement actions.
What you'll need#
- U.S. citizenship.
- Current full-time enrollment at an accredited institution with at least one semester completed.
- Completion of two years of undergraduate study in a business-related program, such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Finance.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to negotiate between large-scale project goals and individual work assignments.

- This is a full-time, paid position.
- The role offers both on-site and remote work options.
- The position is available on a rolling basis.
