About the role#
As an Operations Intern, you will gain exposure to various parts of the business including production, packaging, quality assurance, logistics, and maintenance. You will learn to supervise teams and contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Learn to lead and supervise individuals within an operations department.
- Assist with the implementation and completion of production plans.
- Apply leadership techniques to meet or exceed quality and output goals.
- Propose ideas to improve existing production or help integrate new product lines.
- Attend meetings with managers and supervisors to understand current projects.
- Identify and resolve production issues like material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or delays.
- Monitor and lead special projects, including submitting proposals and providing status reports to management.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Industrial Management, Supervision, OLS, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Food Science, Ag Business, Food Process Engineering, Food Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Ag System Management, or a related field.
- Willingness to work an off shift.
- Willingness to work in a plant manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
