About the role#
Red Gold is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position based in Elwood, Indiana. You will work closely with the quality team to support plant operations, regulatory compliance, and laboratory testing.
What you'll do#
- Complete a summer project assigned by the Associate Director of Quality.
- Assist with product testing, research, and sampling methods.
- Support the Quality Systems Manager with product sampling and testing requirements.
- Compile and organize data for validation and verification tasks.
- Conduct product cuttings and sensory panels.
- Perform analytical product testing and maintain lab cleanliness.
- Assist with data entry and filing.
- Support projects related to food labeling compliance, food safety plans, shelf life testing, and raw material specifications.
- Research information to help resolve customer inquiries.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, or Consumer Family Sciences.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed for lab and plant tasks.
