About the role#
As a Finance Intern at Arizona Public Service, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting the financial analysis that guides our business decisions. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that support reliable energy delivery, operational excellence, and long-term planning. This is a paid, full-time summer internship lasting 10 weeks. You will receive mentorship, professional development, and opportunities for networking and site visits.
What you'll do#
- Drive financial performance for business areas including Transmission and Distribution, Generation, and Information Technology.
- Analyze financial data to help teams understand performance trends.
- Assist with budget and forecast reviews to identify key variances and improvement opportunities.
- Support cross-functional projects such as sustainability reporting, rate case modeling, and economic impact studies.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies.
- Prepare business plans, cost estimates, and evaluations.
- Conduct research and technical reviews.
- Present findings and recommendations through clear communication.
- Coordinate efforts across different departments to reach project goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Finance or a related field.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to learning.
- Strong interest in finance, business operations, and financial analysis.
- Ability to interpret data, think critically, and solve problems in a collaborative environment.
- Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Involvement in campus finance clubs or related student organizations is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
- The position follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work in-person at an office location about 40% of the time to build relationships and collaborate.
- You must reside in Arizona to perform this role.
- This is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for Summer 2027.
