    About the role#

    This is a 10-week paid summer internship based at the Palo Verde Generating Station. You will work on individual and group projects while receiving guidance from a dedicated manager and mentor. The program includes professional development activities, company tours, and opportunities to shadow professionals across various engineering disciplines. At the end of the term, you will present your project results to the Engineer Senior Leadership Team.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform simple to intermediate engineering analysis and designs.
    • Assist with research, technical reviews, and business documentation.
    • Learn about engineering operations and business functions using internal resources.
    • Coordinate with other departments and disciplines to reach project goals.
    • Present your findings and summer project results to senior leadership.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in Civil Engineering or related fields including Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical, Chemical, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.2.
    • Ability to apply basic engineering principles and problem-solving techniques.
    • Knowledge of relevant codes, safety standards, and engineering practices.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain status as a U.S. person as defined by U.S. Export Control Laws.

    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Summer 2026 (10 weeks).

    • Housing is provided for this in-person program.
