About the role#
This internship focuses on transportation projects. You will work in a collaborative environment to gain practical experience. You will work alongside engineers and technicians to learn about design, planning, and field operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering tasks and on-the-job training.
- Assist with drafting and full plan development.
- Learn to operate GPS and conventional survey equipment.
- Observe construction processes and perform field tests.
- Compile data and complete basic engineering design calculations.
- Participate in in-office planning and design as well as field site visits.
- Work with internal staff including landscape architects and surveyors, and external partners like contractors and public clients.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a technical school or a bachelor's degree program in Civil, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, with at least one year completed.
- 0-6 months of experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Exposure to CAD or Civil 3D software and survey software like Trimble Business Center.
- Strong math skills and the ability to interpret technical plans and specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass safety training and maintain a safety-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to embrace new technologies and work well within a team.

- Location: St Louis, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Term: Rolling.
- Travel: Occasional travel (at least 10%) for field work or business meetings is required. You must be able to operate a motor vehicle and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Requirements: This is a paid position. Offers are contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen.
