    About the role#

    BDO Canada is hiring a Co-op or Intern student for our Expatriate Tax team in Windsor. This is a full-time, 4-month role starting in January 2027. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience by applying your academic accounting knowledge to real client files under the guidance of senior team members.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare Canadian and US personal tax returns and foreign reporting forms.
    • Assist with voluntary disclosures and the review of share-based compensation plans.
    • Conduct and present research on various expatriate tax issues.
    • Draft technical memorandums for clients.
    • Communicate with government agencies regarding tax matters.
    • Develop project management skills by tracking timelines, monitoring time spent on files, and providing status updates to senior staff.
    • Assist in the creation of client consulting project plans.
    • Participate in client entrance and exit interviews alongside tax managers.

    • Current enrollment in an accounting degree or diploma program.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven leadership abilities and a proactive approach to learning.
    • A commitment to teamwork and providing high-quality client service.

    • Location: Windsor, Ontario.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (starting January).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $48,000 - $58,000.
