About the role#
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Co-op to join our team in Toronto. You will report to the Tax Manager and focus on preparing tax calculations and returns. You will also assist with new client tax onboarding and contribute to the development of our proprietary Diamond tax modules. This role requires foundational knowledge of Fund Accounting, which will be provided through company training before your tax-specific work begins.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review tax calculations, T3, T5013, and T1134 returns.
- Assist with tax onboarding for new funds and client registrations for T3, T5013, and GST/HST forms.
- Participate in the development of T3, T5013, and GST/HST modules within our Diamond software.
- Liaise with the Fund Valuation team to gather necessary information and assist with mock and year-end distribution calculations.
- Maintain the database for new funds and assist the team preparing tax slips.
- Improve existing processes and keep management informed of issues that impact workflows.
- Stay current on legal, regulatory, and industry changes that affect daily operations.
- Build professional relationships with clients, auditors, and internal staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an eligible post-secondary co-op program.
- Ability to commit to an 8-month consecutive work term.
- Studies in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Completion of CSC or IFIC Mutual Funds Operations courses or a professional designation are considered assets.

- Location: 121 King Street West, Toronto, Ontario.
- Term: 8-month consecutive term from January 2027 to August 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid work model with teams in the office 4 times per month.
- Status: Full-time and paid.
