About the role#
The Corporate Tax Analyst Co-op assists our tax department with planning, compliance, and reporting. You will work on various tax matters, including federal, state, and international filings. This role provides exposure to financial accounting for income taxes and audit support within a large financial services firm.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review audit-ready workpapers and tax returns for corporations and pass-through entities.
- Assist with financial accounting and reporting, including reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing tax provisions.
- Identify and document tax positions and financial statement disclosures.
- Support tax examinations by preparing responses and necessary schedules for authorities.
- Improve compliance processes and use technology to support tax reporting.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to U.S. federal and state tax laws.
- Collaborate on adhoc projects with members of the Corporate Tax Group.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, Business, or related degree program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Leadership experience from school, work, or extracurricular activities.
- An interest in learning various areas of tax law.
- A positive, goal-driven attitude and a willingness to take initiative as a team player.
