About the role#
The Actuarial Co-op joins the Fidelity Workplace Consulting team to provide actuarial services and advice on client benefit programs, with a focus on health and welfare plans. You will work alongside senior leaders to develop your financial, business, and consultative skills. This role aims to prepare you for a career as a consulting actuary advising mid to large-size companies.
What you'll do#
- Collect and prepare data needed to analyze benefit programs.
- Maintain organized storage of client documentation, including contracts and communication materials.
- Assist in developing health and welfare program pricing, budgets, financial dashboard reporting, and premium equivalent rates.
- Support the negotiation of rates, contractual provisions, and performance guarantees with benefit vendors.
- Perform marketing analysis, including RFP creation, proposal collection, and vendor comparisons.
- Assist with vendor selection, performance criteria, and pricing negotiations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or quantitative degree program.
- A strong preference for candidates who have passed a Society of Actuaries exam.
- Coursework in business, accounting, finance, U.S. healthcare, or economics is a plus.
- Prior internship experience is preferred.
- Availability for a six-month term from January 2026 to July 2026.

- Compensation: $20 to $32 per hour.
