About the role#
Fidelity is looking for a software engineer co-op to join the Enterprise Services Advanced Technology for Investment Management team. You will work alongside full-time engineers on high-priority projects that drive product innovation and business growth. This role focuses on transforming technology into practical capabilities for investment clients.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain robust, scalable applications across the entire software stack.
- Design and produce software features for our product application suite and support tools.
- Develop functional, maintainable, and efficient code while following established engineering patterns.
- Create quick prototypes using Angular, Java, or the AWS stack.
- Participate in team-wide code reviews, design discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
- Build and configure internal automation tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Contribute to the architecture of new financial products and supply ideas to our technology team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Graduate or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong programming fundamentals with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts and exposure to distributed systems, NoSQL, and SQL processing.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Python, C, C++, C#, PHP, Swift, or JavaScript.
- Experience with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and jQuery, plus exposure to visualization libraries like Plot.ly, agGrid, or High Charts.
- Familiarity with development environments such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, or XCode.
- Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to integrity.
- A strong academic record and a desire to learn about financial markets and products.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Boston, Massachusetts or Merrimack, New Hampshire.
- The role operates on a rolling basis.
