About the role#
As a Youth Mental Health Specialist Intern, you will work with licensed professionals to provide direct care for clients. You will monitor the emotional condition of clients, provide support, and assist with their daily routines. This position offers clinical experience in a structured environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and evaluate how clients respond to their treatment plans.
- Facilitate cottage groups and treatment programs on topics like anger management and relationship building.
- Protect clients from physical and emotional harm using the Therapeutic Crisis Model of Intervention.
- Provide day-to-day care and maintain a structured environment for clients.
- Keep the client environment clean and organized.
- Attend staff meetings and clinical rounds while completing necessary status reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field.
- A minimum of a High School diploma.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to work with initiative and independent judgment.
- Sensitivity when working with people from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities.

- Location: Shaker Heights, Ohio.
- Schedule: This is a second shift position with hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship with rolling start dates.
